Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that coordinates food distribution and other life-saving aid around the world, with the goal of ending hunger worldwide by 2030.
Our church participates annually toward this effort by hosting a Rise Against Hunger Meal Packing Event. Fundraising takes place throughout the year to cover the cost of the food, on the Martin Luther King Day of Service we host many volunteers to pack thousands of dehydrated, high protein, and highly nutritious meals to be distributed to countries in need around the world. They are used in crisis situations, school feeding programs, and orphanages in developing countries around the world. At our 2019 event we packed over 34,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger!
The meal packing events are fun, rewarding events with jobs for volunteers of all ages and abilities. We hope you will join us for our 2020 event on Monday, January 20 at 9 am. We will need lots of help to pack more than 59,000 meals!
