Join with your UMCWC friends for an hour of fun in a virtual trivia game when we will raise funds for Rise Against Hunger.
Rise Against Hunger’s Gather for Good experience is a one-hour virtual event that brings individuals and groups together for an engaging, fun, and fast-paced trivia game! This is an incredible opportunity for you to learn more about food insecurity, join RAH in the movement to end hunger, and show off your trivia skills! There will be questions about RAH, UMCWC’s meal packaging events, trivia about UMCWC, and more! Here’s a clue: we have packed 270,306 meals in 9 events since 2012. We will raise $1500 or more for RAH programs. If 60 people participate and donate $25 each we will reach our goal!
Online registration is open. Mark your calendar now and gather a team or plan to play on your own. There will be prizes!!! Mark your calendars for our meal packaging event on 1-17-22.
Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that coordinates food distribution and other life-saving aid around the world, with the goal of ending hunger worldwide by 2030.
Our church participates annually toward this effort by hosting a Rise Against Hunger Meal Packing Event. Fundraising takes place throughout the year to cover the cost of the food, on the Martin Luther King Day of Service we host many volunteers to pack thousands of dehydrated, high protein, and highly nutritious meals to be distributed to countries in need around the world. They are used in crisis situations, school feeding programs, and orphanages in developing countries around the world. The meal packing events are fun, rewarding events with jobs for volunteers of all ages and abilities.
On Monday, January 20 , we packed more than 59,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger! The meals we packed have shipped and will be used by Lift Up the Vulnerable which is helping
people in South Sudan.
Help is needed as we prepare our fund-raising efforts for our next event. Talk to Reverend Rounsley to be part of the RAH planning team!
