Fall 2023 Parking Situation
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PARKING AT UMCWC
At their working meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 15, the West Chester Borough Council, on the recommendation of their new parking director, Ramsey Reiner, considered revoking the on-going 20 year lease we have had for 18 parking spaces in lot #5 and offering them to neighbors for the highest bidder. This is an existential threat and the whole church needs to be involved by showing up, writing emails, and holding it in prayer.
Please read the two documents posted here, pray for this difficult situation, and consider taking action as requested in the documents.
UPDATE: Thank you to the many, many people who attended the Borough Council meeting on August 15 to speak on this issue and show support for the church, and to those who took the time to contact borough council members. While the issue has not been resolved, and we are still at risk of losing our parking lease, the issue has been tabled to allow time for further discussion.
